Assem Zein is an irrigation technologies and water systems specialist, researcher, and consultant with more than 16 years of experience across academic, governmental, and private sectors in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He currently serves as a Date Palm Irrigation Specialist at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he focuses on improving irrigation efficiency, sustainable water management, and advanced agricultural technologies for date palm cultivation.

He is also an active researcher and author with multiple ISI-indexed publications in irrigation engineering, post harvest technologies, sustainable agriculture, bioenergy, and food science. His work has been published in journals such as the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Plants, Horticulture, and PLOS ONE.
