Dr. Ibrahim S. Elbasyoni is a Research Scientist at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and an Associate Professor in the Department of Crop Science at Damanhur University. He received his PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2010.

His research focuses on plant breeding, genetics, genomic selection, high-throughput phenotyping, and the development of crop genotypes tolerant to biotic and abiotic stresses. He has extensive experience integrating genomics, bioinformatics, remote sensing, and statistical approaches into practical breeding programs for crops, including wheat, barley, and date palm.Dr. Elbasyoni has received several national and international research grants and has published more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers in reputable journals.
