Biography

Laxman Adhikari received his Ph.D. in ‘Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics’ from the University of Georgia, USA in 2018. He worked under Dr. Ali Missaoui and his dissertation focused on the genetic dissection of alfalfa adaptation and agronomic traits. Soon after his Ph.D., he joined Prof. Jesse Poland at Kansas State University lab as a post-doc fellow and moved to KAUST, KSA along with his PI. At the Poland lab, he has been working on the genetics and genomics of wheat and its wild relatives. Laxman received his MS in ‘Plant and Soil Sciences’ from Oklahoma State University in 2014 under the supervision of Dr. Yanqi Wu. He also worked as a research assistant at UT Austin for a short period (3 M) under Prof. Thomas Juenger in 2014. Laxman is interested in genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular biology. He is originally from Nepal and loves traveling, sports, and chatting with family/friends.
